Whilst on our website or speaking to one of our advisors, occasionally we can collect some personal details from you. These details allow us to deal with your enquiry fully and give you the best possible service. We would like to reassure you that we comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, giving you the confidence that any details we do collect will be used in the correct manner.

What data we collect and how we use it?

When submitting an enquiry on our website, arranging a home survey or placing an order, we ask for personal details such as your name, email address, contact number etc. This information is needed to help us deal with your enquiry quickly and accurately, to allow us to follow up on our service as part of our continuous improvement and customer care objectives and for our internal record keeping purposes. Please note, we do not ask for any personal information when you design and create a quote.

From time to time, we may use your details to notify you about important changes to our website, new product additions, latest new or any other information we think you may find useful. If you would like to opt out of this, please email us at with “Unsubscribe” as the email subject, or write to us (please see our ‘contact us’ page for more details).

You must inform us if you provide details of a third party, or if you use someone else’s email address, otherwise we will assume that we are receiving the personal data directly from you and that you have the appropriate permission to transfer it to us.

What an IP address is and what we do with it?

An IP address is a unique string of numbers separated by full stops that identifies each computer using the Internet Protocol to communicate over a network. We monitor IP addresses, which are automatically recognised by the web server, to analyse and audit the use of our site.

Third party companies

We do not sell your details to third parties; however there may be a requirement for us to share some data with Euramax Direct suppliers or third party companies we deal with. We do our utmost to ensure our suppliers have the same standard of data protection as we do.

Please be aware that we cannot control their privacy policies and we cannot guarantee the security of any personal information collected there. Please see the individual privacy policies for further information.

We reserve the right to disclose user information in special cases where we have reason to believe this is necessary to identify or contact anyone who may be causing harm (intentionally or otherwise) to Euramax Direct or others, or when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.

Cookie Policy

Cookies on the Euramax Direct website

This site, like many others, uses small files called cookies to help us customise your experience. Find out more about cookies and how you can control them. This page contains information on what ‘cookies’ are, the cookies used by the Euramax Direct website, how to switch cookies off in your browser, how to specifically switch off advertising cookies, and some useful links for further reading on the subject. If it does not provide the information you were looking for, or you have any further questions about the use of cookies on the Euramax Direct website, please email

What are ‘cookies’?

‘Cookies’ are small text files that are stored by the browser (for example, Internet Explorer or Safari) on your computer or mobile phone. They allow websites to store things like user preferences. You can think of cookies as providing a ‘memory’ for the website, so that it can recognise you when you come back and respond appropriately.

How does the Euramax Direct website use cookies?

A visit to a page on the Euramax Direct website may generate the following types of cookie:

  • Site performance cookies
  • Anonymous analytics cookies
  • Geo-targeting cookies
  • Registration cookies
  • Advertising cookies
  • Third party advertising cookies

Site performance cookies:

This type of cookie remembers your preferences for tools found on the Euramax Direct website, so you don’t have to re-set them each time you visit. Examples include:

  • Volume settings for our video player
  • Whether you see the latest or the oldest article comments first
  • Video streaming speeds that are compatible with your browser

Anonymous analytics cookies:

Every time someone visits our website, software provided by another organisation generates an ‘anonymous analytics cookie’:

  • These cookies can tell us whether or not you have visited the site before.
  • Your browser will tell us if you have these cookies and, if you don’t, we generate new ones.
  • This allows us to track how many individual users we have, and how often they visit the site.

Unless you are signed in to the Euramax Direct website, we cannot use these cookies to identify individuals. We use them to gather statistics, for example, the number of visits to a page. If you are logged in, we will also know the details you gave to us for this, such as your username and email address.

Geo-targeting cookies

These cookies are used by software which tries to work out what country you are in from the information supplied by your browser when you click on a web page. This cookie is completely anonymous, and we only use it to help target our content such as whether you see our UK home page – and advertising.

Registration cookies

When you register with Euramax Direct, we generate cookies that let us know whether you are signed in or not. Our servers use these cookies to work out which account you are signed in with, and if you are allowed access to a particular service. It also allows us to associate any comments you post with your username. If you have not selected ‘keep me signed in’, your cookies get deleted when you either close your browser or shut down your computer. While you are signed into our site, we combine information from your registration cookies with analytics cookies, which we could use to identify which pages you have seen on the Euramax Direct website.

Advertising cookies:

These cookies allow us to know whether or not you’ve seen an advert or a type of advert, and how long it is since you’ve seen it. We also use cookies to help us use targeted advertising. We may use cookies set by another organization so we can more accurately target advertising to you. For example, we may show adverts about windows if you have recently visited the window section of our site. These cookies are anonymous – they store information about what you are looking at on our site, but not about whom you are. We also set anonymous cookies on certain other sites that we advertise on. If you receive one of those cookies, we may then use it to identify you as having visited that site if you later visit the Euramax Direct website. We can then target our advertising based on this information.

Third party advertising cookies

Any advertisements you see on the Euramax Direct website are provided by other organisations. Some of these organisations use their own anonymous cookies to track how many people have seen a particular ad, or to track how many people have seen it more than once. The companies that generate these cookies have their own privacy policies, and we have no access to read or write these cookies. These organizations may use their cookies to anonymously target advertising to you on other websites, based on your visit to the Euramax Direct website. We are not currently allowing advertisements to show on our website but may do in the future.

Other third party cookies

On some pages of our website, other organisations may also set their own anonymous cookies. They do this to track the success of their application, or to customise the application for you. Because of how cookies work, our website cannot access these cookies, nor can the other organisation access the data in cookies we use on our website.
For example, when you share an article using a social-media sharing button (for example, Facebook) on the Euramax Direct website, the social network that has created the button will record that you have done this.

How do I turn cookies off?

It is usually possible to stop your browser accepting cookies, or to stop it accepting cookies from a particular website. However, we cannot tell if you are signed in without using cookies, so you would not be able to buy our products.
All modern browsers allow you to change your cookie settings. You can usually find these settings in the ‘options’ or ‘preferences’ menu of your browser. To understand these settings, the following links may be helpful, or you can use the ‘Help’ option in your browser for more details.

If you are primarily concerned about third party cookies generated by advertisers, you can turn these off by going to the Your Online Choices site.
You can also visit the trade body representing these advertising platforms for more information: Network Advertising Initiative.
They have provided a site where you can control all third-party online advertising. Please note that there are many more networks listed on this site than those that we use at Euramax Direct.
